Ang is a climbing instructor and also on the advisory board member of the Khumbu Climbing Center in Khumbu, Nepal. Ang spent some time in the mountains in the US as a park ranger doing search and rescues on Rainier National Park and Denali National Park in Alaska. Trained with the rescue rangers from Jenny Lake Rescue, Grand Teton National Park. Been on four expeditions on Denali in Alaska and have climbed Everest three times. In May 22 nd 2017 done the world’s highest rescue from 8600 meters on Everest saving the lives of a Sherpa and his client from Pakistan. A recipient of the PRO PIN from Denali National Park in 2016. But likes to keep low key.
Ang has also worked with the documentary “Sacred of the Sky Tombs” in the cliff caves of Mustang, Nepal. Apart from guiding and climbing mountains Ang is a social worker, working with the education of the kids in remote villages and rebuilding the damaged schools in the villages of Nepal after the earthquake in 2015. Ang loves to share the cultures, traditions and adventures from his country and mountains to people from other world.
Danuru Sherpa!! what can be said more about this man, hails from Phortse, Khumbu. During the spring season he is busy guiding Everest expeditions. He also guided for North Face and National Geographic Everest Expedition last spring 2012 and in fall when he is away from big mountains, Danuru leads our climbing clinic. He is a senior lead instructor for Khumbu Climbing Center. He has summited Everest 16 times, Cho Oyu 12 times, Amadablam 2 times, Manaslu once, Makalu up to 8000mts and many numerous trekking peaks which he lost count of. His gentle caring nature is his greatest asset. Can't stop talking of him highly enough. Don't you think you are in safe hands with this guy?
Mingma Tenzing young and strong also comes from the village of Phortse in the Khumbu region. He has guided people on top of Everest 9 times, Cho Oyu 7 times, Amadablam once, Manaslu once, Lobuche East, Mera Peak, Island Peak, Nirekha many more many times that he lost count of. He along with Danuru leads our climbing clinic in the fall season. Mingma is also an instructor for Khumbu Climbing Center.
Bishnu Gurung comes from Chitwan District of Nepal and is our leader and guide on our river trips. He is a WFR certified and also a WRT (White Water Technician). He is a certified Raft Guide by the IRF(International Rafting Federation). He has guided in the Indian Himalayan Rivers, Norway, Japan, Nepal and has done some first decent in Bhutan Rivers. He is fun loving and also training on his mountain skills.
Saroj comes from Makalu region of Nepal and is the main chef for AHA camping expeditions. With no formal education he started young as a kitchen helper carrying baskets on trips and now upgraded himself into a cook. Some of our clients have named him as Gordon Ramsey of the Himalayas... He makes some of the most awesome desserts in a basic pot over a kerosene burner..
Lakpa Lama graduated from St. Paul’s Darjeeling. One of the renowned schools in India built by the British. He did his advance mountaineering course from the famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute started by one of the first man to climb Everest, Tenzing Norgay 1986. Has been leading trekking trips since 2001 in Nepal, Tibet and India. Lakpa also looks after the operations.
Luckme comes from the district of Kavre. It seems climbing runs in the blood of the family. Her sister is a rock climber and competes internationally. She is our freelance guide for trekking and trekking peaks.
Luckme completed her basic and advanced mountaineering course from Nepal Mountaineering Association and is in the process of becoming an internationally certified mountain guide. At a very young age Luckme has climbed the famous beautiful Amadablam, Everest in 2018 then she was 20 years old, Cholatse and many trekking peaks. She is also a certified Wilderness First Responder.
Pasang spends his time in between Bhutan and Nepal. He has been leading trips in Nepal, India and Bhutan for the past 22 years. His specialty is the three high passes trek in the Khumbu Nepal. He has guided treks for Exodus(UK) guiding in Nepal, Ladakh(Indian Himalayas) and Bhutan for the past 20 years and now joined Angs Himalayan Adventures since last year 2018. To tell you he does not like climbing at all but enjoys trekking. He has many stories to tell.
If you ask him his favorite food he will say Sikkam (dried pork belly a dish in Bhutan) and Dacchi (Chilly cheese). When not guiding Pasang loves to be in the company of his family.
Wanda started as an Assistant guide in his early years during his school holidays following his older brothers who then used to lead trips. His professional career started in 1998 leading trips in Nepal and the Indian Himalayas. For few years he lived in Germany and came back to Nepal for the love of mountains.
Wanda first climbed Everest on the 23 rd of May 2019 and this won’t be his last; raising awareness “Say no to Drugs” and fighting against “Huntington Disease”
